We just wanted to remind you of these workshops from 10.30 and 2.30 on Saturday 11th March at Beckton Globe Rotunda.

This could be our last opportunity to meet with East UK architects and, hopefully (but no guarantee) Councillors and representatives from the Council Parks’ Team, to influence what happens to the Newham City Farm site and the wider Beckton Parks Masterplan and the priorities. 

As a result of the persistence of Newham residents and employees supported by the Save Newham City Farm campaign, there is a community farm on the designs and we hope that the architects have now extended the space allocated to animal provision for the educational / skills development, social, therapeutic, volunteering benefits which interaction with animals bring. 

We are hoping that the next step is to prioritise finding a third party to operate the farm and we will be asking how quickly this could happen.
