East UK, the urban landscape architects contracted by Newham Council to co-design the Beckton Parks Masterplan including the farm site based on the collaborative vision playbook has announced public workshops to involve interested parties in the “co-design” of the area. These are on 26th November and 3rd December. Please follow the above link to subscribe via Eventbrite or email to the East UK community engagement team. 

The workshop specific to the farm is on 3rd December pm. 

The public can view and discuss initial plans prior to each of the 4 workshops on either date without subscribing. 

We remain really hopeful that with enough community support and participation, there might be a community farm again. 

Please also see this week’s MyLondon article about the farm. We hope that enough people might comment with their own local personal stories about the value of the farm, and finally attract TV coverage and appeal to potential investors. This is the sort of success achieved at the likes of Park Lane Stables, Twickenham,  and Kentish Town City Farm. 

Newham people, particularly the most impacted vulnerable and disadvantaged, really deserve a good news story. 

We’re still fighting, hoping and praying for one.
