Open the mayoral and ward debates up for free streaming for one day

The most important mayoral and ward debates in our election are only available to Rogers TV subscribers. This is in contrast to Guelph's regular city council meetings, which available for free streaming on the Rogers site (without restrictions) as a public service (as well as for paid customers on TV or online).
We are aware that in partnering with the Guelph Chamber of Commerce to put on these debates, Rogers is already investing its resources in our community. For this we are grateful.
However, we kindly request that Rogers make the mayoral and ward debates available for streaming online to all citizens of Guelph for ONE DAY prior to voting day on October 27th.
Debates are a vital element of a healthy democracy. Citizens need as much information as possible about their candidates to help make the important decision of who to vote for. If Rogers gives all citizens the opportunity to view this debate, it will demonstrate its desire to be a true partner in Guelph's local democracy.
