We, the City of San Diego, demand that you retire the Charger team from the NFL.  We are not disputing Spanos's right to move his franchise but the team Chargers belong to the city of San Diego.

We propose the following: You retire the Charger team like you did for the city of Cleveland in 1995. Dean Spanos & Co create a new team - with new logo and colors - with no claim to the logo, colors, or history of the San Diego Chargers.  Just like the highly successful Baltimore Ravens, this will help the franchise get support from a new city that doesn't want another city's team. This will also help the city of San Diego retain hope, that one day, like the city of Cleveland, we will see our home team play again in our city. 

We are the second largest city in California.  We have supported you for 56 years.  You have already broken our hearts.  Don't add spit in our face.  Don't alienate the 8th largest metropolitan area in the United States.
