It is safe to say there are thousands of GTA fans out there who have stopped playing/lost interest in GTA Online purely because of the lack of a friendly free roam mode, which featured in GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption and made the game a lot of fun for those who aren't into killing absolutely every single other player in the room.

At the moment GTA Online is probably one of the most dangerous places on earth, with the constant looming threat of being stalked/hunted and killed by 'griefers' and others who find that sort of thing fun.

And we aren't trying to take that fun away from them. Like GTA IV, and Red Dead had, we just want our own seperate, safe, world to explore where the only way you can die is by falling from a great height, or drowning (or by using the suicide option in the menu).

- Yes, there is the passive mode. But this isn't effective. Players have found ways around it, and you still have to deal with/be in a violent world.

- Yes, there is the Bad Sport system. This also isn't effective, as it still doesn't stop players from killing people.

- Yes, there are Invite/crew/private/friends lobbies. But again they aren't effective. Why should you have to invite everyone you know who is a non violent player, join a crew who aren't violent, or be in a non public room just so you can explore the GTA world at your own pace without the constant worry of being killed?

The worst thing about the aforementioned rooms/lobbies, is that because they aren't public per se, you may often struggle to get a full room and there is still the strong chance that someone may accidentally kill you. Thus, it rapidly gets boring.

There are thousands out there who would call this a 'pansy' mode/wimpfest and other such derogatory terms. But the whole point of GTA isn't to kill/maim everything in sight. That sort of thing is often described as a shoot 'em up game. GTA isn't.

Why else would they include so many side activities (darts, boat races, parachuting, swimming, golf, tennis and so on), or other real world types of things (truck driving, motorbiking, hiking along walking tracks, clothes purchasing etc) if the main aim was to kill everyone?

A quick Google search will prove that this mode is needed, and often requested, so Rockstar, can you please make GTA V Online appealing to the thousands of us who want to explore your game without the fear of being killed and give us our Friendly Free Roam back?
