Dear Dr. Kenner,

As the parents of players on the 2018 football team, we were all extremely proud of the progress the players made, not only on the field, but as young men.

With the resignation of Coach Mallette, we would like to continue the positive momentum the program attained last season.

We believe the best way to continue this growth is to hire Coach Dan Finger as the new Head Coach of the Whitney Young Football program.

Coach Finger graduated from the WY Academic Center in 2008 and WY High School in 2012.

He played four years of varsity football at Hamilton College from 2012-16.

He has been a football coach since 2015.  First at WY, he coached the receivers and defensive backs during the 2015 season. He then served as the defensive coordinator and strength coach at Christ the King Jesuit College Prep in 2017. He was the Associate Head Coach at WY in 2018 -- serving as the Head Junior Varsity Coach, Varsity special teams coordinator, secondary coach,, and receivers coach.

As a graduate of Whitney Young, Coach Finger has an inside understanding of what it will take for our young men and ladies to succeed personally, academically, and on the football field.
