Happy Friday! The Roark campaign continues to build momentum! More and more animal advocates across the country are calling on Roark to demand better animal welfare standards from the major food serving companies it owns. This week a student at the University of Michigan teamed up with The Humane League to run a full page newspaper ad in The Michigan Daily urging U of M to stop investing its endowment in Roark Capital! Let’s keep the momentum going and take a few quick actions for the campaign! 1) Post on the University of Michigan’s Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/UniversityOfMichigan/ Choose an option below, or create your own comment. Option #1: It’s really disappointing that the University of Michigan invest its endowment in Roark Capital, a company involved in an animal cruelty scandal. Say something like: Option #1: It’s unacceptable that Roark Capital Group has failed to ensure that all of the restaurant chains it invests in have publicly committed to meaningful animal welfare standards. Please do the right thing and demand better from the companies you invest in. Animal cruelty should never be tolerated! Option #2: As the major shareholder for Arby’s, Corner Bakery and CKE, Roark Capital has the opportunity to instigate major improvements in their supply chains. I hope you'll be a leader for animals by urging the companies you invest in to adopt a meaningful chicken welfare policy like the one Focus Brands has already committed to.
