Local petition worthy of support - Disley library and car parking charges
Our petition for a bypass is having an impact. Most recently being included in consultations and plans at CEC and SMBC. We will keep it up!
Here is another local issue you might want to get behind:
As we know by now, Cheshire East Council are proposing to make cuts to Disley Library opening hours and introduce car parking charges in the heart of the village. This will could a dramatic effect on village life, and we need to stand together to oppose these cuts.
The library is vital to a large number of people in the village and if anything hours should be increased, not cut.
Car parking charges could push shoppers out of town and will disadvantage those who cannot make it into the village on foot. Our independent businesses will suffer.
Before any changes, these proposals will have to go through a public consultation.
