Hi all

Happy New Year! It has been good to see our campaign start to gain traction with MPs and local councils recently. I was also on BBC radio over Christmas discussing the campaign.

For those of you in the Cheshire East section of the A6, you will be pleased to hear a 'relief road' is included among other proposals to reduce the impact of the A6 on the area. However this is at consultation stage and they are looking for public views on this. Your input would be worthwhile to make sure a bypass/relief road gets priority.

HAVE YOUR SAY. The Cheshire East Local Transport Delivery Plan consultation can be found here. Disley is included in the Poynton section. You can go to that tab directly. NB you don't have to fill it all out! Just the pertinent bits to Disley or whatever your wider transport interests are.

As for SMBC, there are rumblings of progress and similar consultations. As for High Peak/Derbyshire its a little quiet. It would be a travesty if those communities were left out and the bypass ended at New Mills which was the proposal last time - funneling the traffic there. People in those areas may want to give their local politicians a nudge (as will I)! Good luck.

Here's to a better, brighter 2021

Simon
