Dear Supporters
We urge you to support The All Party Parliamentary Group on Whistleblowing and as appropriate, complete this survey:
https://www.wbuk.org/appg-whistleblowing-survey
The purpose of this survey is to gather information from as wide an audience as possible across all sectors. The information will be professionally interpreted and provided to the APPG www.wbuk.org
Since starting this petition, we have had numerous comments and witnessed for ourselves, examples where parents in the Family Court process claim they have encountered poor practice, bullying & harassment, bias, report evidence being excluded, poor assessments and a general lack of natural justice throughout the process.
Some state they’ve tried to complain and have hit brick walls, or they are too afraid to complain, even to the appropriate regulatory body, due to the fear of retribution and / or being held in contempt of court for doing so.
The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Whistleblowing in Westminster recognise the importance of being able to raise genuine concerns safely. They are calling for a strengthening of Whistleblower rights and protection through the creation of an official ‘Office For The Whistleblower’.
They state ‘The system of regulators operating within their sectors without co-ordination, control and, crucially, independent oversight to ensure proper accountability, is simply not working well enough to deliver just outcomes.’
Click this link for more information about this APPG : https://www.wbuk.org/new-page
We urge to support this APPG in their work by completing their online survey if you have been affected by these issues:
https://www.wbuk.org/appg-whistleblowing-survey
They also ask that you email your MP and ask them to support the creation of an official ‘Office For The Whistleblower’.
Remember that they are trying to find out about the sorts of things that are not working well.
Please note that they cannot look at individual cases, but they do want to understand the types of problem you have encountered and with which type of organisation, what you tried to do, what roadblocks you hit, if you felt threatened & why and what you think needs to be done to improve the situation.
PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE DETAILS OR ANY NAMES OF THE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN YOUR PARTICULAR CASE
Please do not be put off by the form being designed around a work place whistleblower situation, if like others you have felt too afraid to complain or report malpractice, we have been advised to fill it in as best you can and mainly use the FINAL box to explain the type(s) of issue(s) you encountered.
If you have any specific questions about filling the form in please contact the APPG Secretariat directly (they are a very small team but very approachable). The contact details are on the website.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support. We would be very grateful if you would ask someone you know who might share our concerns to sign the petition.
Much love
Rachel & Teresa xx
