Older Version of League of Legends as a client that progresses, made by Riot.
The Issue
Many people, including myself, want Riot to make a earlier version of League of Legends available to the public. If you played earlier versions of League, you'll remember things such as Evelynn with 6 Sunfire Capes, AP Amumu (Grenade), and the many, many reworks of Ryze. So many iterations of these characters that we all love. Point and click Warwick ult? Check. Twitch with 60 second Invisibility? Check. Galio AOE taunt? Definitely check. All of these things can be experienced by newer players, AND some of older players who want the nostalgia. YES it was broken, YES it wont be for everyone, but I know that many of us want to play this. Not only will this help get some of the old player base who left because they didn't like the changes, it will also enable more feedback for Riot. Perhaps an old item that was removed might find its way back into the game, or an old ability that people miss might be brought back into a new champion. Yes, this WILL be allot of work, yes, some of the player base might stop playing the normal one, but the pros far outnumber the cons. They said that it would hinder there progress focusing on the main game, which is why I thought of a solution. If you enable the community to create older versions of the game, and then make them live, you would create a brand new environment for the game. Perhaps you could give the database of every champion and then give out (or recommend) a software to broadcast the game. Perhaps this could even lead to people making alterations of the game, for example like the original DoTa mod for Warcraft 3. This could lead into a fan made server with custom patches, as if the game went into a direction where everyone was getting buffed every patch, or opposite.
"What would this do excluding split the player base though? If anything it will make que timers ridiculous!" Incorrect. The publicity caused by this would be massive. Remember when gangplank "Died"? That was big, but this would be bigger.
But what if they do it themselves? What if they make a server that progressively goes through the history of League. In that case, although they would need to hire new staff, it would more than likely get enough money to be worth. The shop could still cost RP, therefore still earning Riot money.
If this isn't done, not much will change, although if it does it will create a larger player base for people to enjoy. I wish for everyone to spread this petition so more people can sign it.
