League of Legends Server in Africa

League of Legends Server in Africa
The Issue
In 2016, after visiting South Africa, two members of Riot’s Global Strategy team concluded that South Africa does not meet the criteria for League of Legends server hosting. This means South Africa's ability to grow and develop alongside League of Legends’ 80 million other players was taken away from them. In just 2 years the LoL community has increased by 10 million! LoL is growing in popularity each day. Because of this growing population, I think it only fair that Riot revisit having a server in SA. Technologies in this country advance by the day, so who is to say SA is not yet fit for having its own server? Until Riot reconsiders having a SA server we won't know. It's unfair both for SA gamers who can't enjoy a good experience and for gamers who are playing within the EUW region with a decent ping. Mind Sports South Africa is recognized by Act of Parliament as the national controlling body for mind sports in SA. MSSA is also an affiliate of the International Esports Federation. Right now, in SA, there are a significant amount of LoL players and teams growing. So much, that MSSA hosts local Esports tournaments for League of Legends. However, it is a struggle to compete against other gamers from countries who have their own gaming server for LoL. Again it's unfair for both parties. SA gamers are forced to play with a ping of 200+, whereas other countries have a average ping of 50. Ideally, South Africa would be the best option for the server, but Egypt, Nigeria, and even Kenya would have the capability to be the location for the server as well. On behalf of the entire African League Community, I'm asking that Riot please revisit making a SA server, or even come up with a way to make the EUW server better for SA use.
