Colton died in the back of an ambulance that never moved while the EMT asked for directions to the hospital because air transport had been canceled and no call to medical control was made. Critical airway management and life-saving oxygen were never given. After an unethical medical exam in the back of the ambulance, his body was then taken to an employee-run EMS morgue, constructed from a wood shop with a built mortuary cooler, which is highly unacceptable.
A 25-year paramedic who met the qualifications to testify as an expert witness in court has reviewed Colton’s case. An excerpt from her video analysis is included in this update.
Please help demand accountability.
Email or call Tom Mitchell at the North Carolina Office of EMS and request a proper review of Colton Brown’s case. After obtaining body camera footage, I was blocked from providing additional information that is relevant to what happened and shows Colton went a total of 21 minutes with no oxygen.
Ask that Colton Brown’s case be properly investigated and that steps be taken to ensure this never happens again to other trauma patients.
