Petition updateTALANS LAW: Confining, Restraining All Dogs In The County
Ordinance for potentially vicious dog breeds

I am asking for Robeson County Board of Commissioners to require owners of ALL POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS DOG BREEDS to take extra precautionary steps to prevent their dog from attacking ppl. Animals that are POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO ROAM FREE IN A COMMUNITY...children should be able to ride their bikes, build forts with their siblings, and play outside without the fear of a dog attacking them. A gun owner is required to follow laws to help prevent a child from getting access to that gun. I feel the same should apply to a person that owns POTENTIALLY dangerous dog BREEDS. The Lumberton City Council passed a breed-specific dog ordinance on June 13,1016, the County Commissioners need to join City Council and protect the citizens in this county. The ordinance may not prevent all dog attacks, but it will lower the chances of an attack. If the ordinance can only help save one child from losing their life, one child from being disfigured by the jaws of a dog or prevent one parent from feeling the pain I feel. I will not stop telling how Talan's life was taken because an owner of a POTENTIALLY dangerous dog breed did not BY LAW have to secure their dogs at all times!
