Government Deception About Cyanobacteria Confirmed

The government's knowledge of a massive Cyanobacteria bloom just offshore has now been confirmed back to August 17th, amid staunch denials by the state and Mote Marine Lab Center for Tropical Research that Cyanobacteria cannot survive in saltwater and therefore was not a serious coastal issue.

This article also points out that saltwater Cyanobacteria blooms have been recognized since the 1700's. Yet, all we've been getting are denial after denial by officials - hmmm... time to #FollowTheMoney, anyone?

Not only can certain species of cyanobacteria survive in salt water, they thrive and are not only feeding the Red Tide at the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River upon release from Lake Okeechobee, but have amassed into a full on bloom offshore as well. The Red Tide is now sandwiched between two masses of Cyanobacterian in some areas, gorging itself as it prepares to expand the current #DeadZone from Sanibel, Florida along the coast and out into the Gulf of Mexico.

This article falls dangerously short on the scientifically verified deadly health effects on animals and humans from cyanobacteria as well as the direct causation from pollution. This misinformation needs to be called out and corrected everytime it's disseminated, attempting to masquerade as fact when it is nothing more than fiction for the purpose of covering up this ecological disaster. #FollowTheMoney

Q: Why haven't we heard about Cyanobacteria (Blue-Green Algae) levels like we do about Red Tide levels?

A: The government isn't testing for Cyanobacteria and refuses to do so, the confirmation noted in this article is via aerial observation right now, which is unacceptable. Only a handful of labs can perform the testing, however the government has access to said labs with the resources needed to perform the testing.

- Makes one wonder what they're afraid to reveal and what steps they'd legally be required to take once said results were obtained and made public.
