Beginning December 10, 2018, the Port Authority has showcased famous candy sculptures around the World Trade Center campus crafted by renowned French artist Laurence Jenkell. The installation, called "Candy Nations" features the flags of the G-20 Nations. One of the candies is a nine-foot-tall statue honoring Saudi Arabia that is wrapped in the nation’s emerald flag bearing the Arabic inscription, “There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is the prophet.”

15 of the 19 hijackers responsible for the attack on the World Trade Center came from Saudi Arabia.

For survivors, family members of the fallen, and first responders, the World Trade Center complex is a scared, holy place of healing and rememberance. To see the flag of those responsible for the attacks placed on the grounds is an affront to all who were affected by their actions on that terrible day. It is in poor taste, desecrates the memory of those who died, and dishonors those who served and survived.

Mr. Cotton, head of the Port Authority -- WE ASK THAT YOU REMOVE THIS TASTELESS, HURTFUL ART EXHIBITION FROM THIS SACRED SPACE IMMEDIATELY.
