Your voices are heard despite the long road ahead of us. Soon there will be an article published in a very popular publication in the art world. Our demands remain clear:
1) We want Ricco Wright to be banned from his participation in Chicago Expo Art Fair.
2) Art collectors will not continue buying work from BWS Gallery nor do business or collaborations with Ricco Wright. Especially the Horts who have continually supported him despite all they have been told about non-payment of artists, art-workers, and gallery staff.
3) Platforms such as artsy will not allow Ricco to post and sell work.
4) Ricco Wright will pay the remaining artists that have yet to see their money from previous sold works.
5) Ricco Wright will be held accountable and face the consequences of multiple instances of sexual violence towards women.
6) Other artists will become aware that BWS Gallery is not a safe space for the community and will refuse to collaborate with him and perpetuate this cycle of abuse.
It is important that we do not silence anyone who has experienced traumatic events due to Ricco Wright's major lack of professionalism, accountability, and responsibility throughout the years. We must be gentle with each other and offer a faithful ear to those who struggle to share their story. Every story matters and as a community it is our job to uplift each other. Justice will soon prevail, and the healing continues.
Thank you for your solidarity, pass it on.
