The Omicron variant has reached Canada and York is still insisting in-person classes will happen, entirely dismissing the safety issue this presents. It is no telling how severe this new variant will be, having students face the possibility to return in person for a short time before a possible lockdown again. Not to mention the issue international students, immunocompromised, or other issues students face due to York's requirement for in person learning.
It is highly advised that you reach out to your department, president, vice president and student provost. Below, you will find the emails that should be told our concerns and problems with this mandate to go back to in-person lessons. Please find the email for your department on York's website. Send an email to each email address listed below and express your concerns with returning back to campus for the remainder of the school year. Also be sure to link the petition in the email.
