The team from the University of Leicester, perhaps in response to this petition, has withdrawn the “student sex work” policy and original toolkits from the project pages on the university website and uploaded a revised version of the staff toolkit. Apparently, the student toolkit is also being rewritten.

The revision of the staff toolkit has done little to address the many criticisms of the original version and in some ways, it is now even worse. It includes misinformation and pure sex industry propaganda. Of particular significance though, is that the University of Leicester’s name and logo have been removed from the toolkit and it’s now only attributed to the three people who wrote it.

The team’s project pages also indicate that the ESRC funding has been extended until the end of 2023. Meaning that they are receiving public money to promote this damaging approach to other universities and institutions around the UK for three full years. A publicly funded attempt at policy capture.
