You may have seen reports on social media and in the press of Durham University running “student sex work” training. This training was delivered by the team from Leicester University behind the student “sex work” toolkit as part of a two-year project funded by the ESRC to promote their toolkit to universities around the UK. They have already delivered the same training to hundreds of students and staff at dozens of British universities.
We spoke to someone who has attended the training at one of those universities and with his help, have published a piece that covers the training in some detail. Entitled, “The ‘student sex work’ training: supporting students or shameless propaganda? You decide.”, it urgently clarifies how important it is that we stop this trend before young women’s human right to not be prostituted is forever steamrolled into dust. Please read and share the article, it comes highly recommended.
The Leicester policy and toolkits are up for formal review in January. Please help us put pressure on Leicester by getting as many signatures on this petition by then as possible – by sharing it and encouraging your friends and contacts to sign.
Thank you for your continuing support.
