Hi everyone!
We want to thank you for all the prayers, support and love we have received from you. We want to take a moment to update you on the pursuit of justice for Robin Simpson, whose life was tragically cut short by her husband, Michael Simpson. Despite the horrific nature of this crime, Judge Robert Johnson of the 177th Criminal District Court set Michael's bail at the lowest possible amount—a decision that shocked and outraged us all.
Adding to this tragedy, it has now been a year, and Michael Simpson has still not been arraigned. This delay has prolonged the suffering of Robin’s loved ones, who are waiting for accountability and justice.
We are relieved to report that in the recent election, the people of Houston sent a powerful message: we will no longer accept leniency and inaction in cases of violent crime. Judge Robert Johnson has been voted out, and we welcome Emily Munoz Detoto as the new judge of the 177th District Court. We are hopeful that this change will bring a tougher stance on violent crime and a renewed commitment to prioritizing victims and their families.
Thank you to every single one of you who signed, shared, and stood with us. Your support has been invaluable in helping us make this stand for justice and accountability. As we continue this fight, we promise to keep you updated on Michael Simpson's legal proceedings and our efforts to ensure the justice system honors Robin’s memory.
In Robin’s honor, let’s continue to push for a safer, fairer community.
