Hello Everyone,

A few things have happened in the past month around the DAM and the ArtsWalk.

First, I was able to meet with the leasing agent from City Center Group to talk about the Market and its importance. We had a productive and frank conversation regarding its current economic state and future plans, but no definite solutions were mentioned. We are hopeful after our conversation that we can all find a way to revitalize the Market to fit the community needs.

Lastly, and unfortunately, another staple along the ArtsWalk has announced its closing. Blended, launched in 2022, will hold its final day of business this Sunday. Known for its great events, drinks, and food, the owners were forced to close as a result of decreased visitors. In this news article, owner Gil DeGruccio stated that his business began to decline when the Market cut their hours, resulting in less foot traffic. Without Blended, now there is an even bigger gap in gathering places and small events for downtown. There is no word on what will go in its place.

We will continue to advocate for all vibrant downtown, ArtsWalk, and community for all who live, work, and visit Downtown Allentown. Let’s continue making our voices heard!
