I just need to highlight a few things, unfortunately it's been brought to my attention that there is a belief that some feel they have been led to believe they are funding Red Dwarf or have been asked for contributions.

This was flagged on Reddit on the Red Dwarf Sub after our latest post was removed with the latest update. And unfortunately these will not be posted further in the sub.

This is a petition to show our support to the cast and crew, and to show the studios that there is demand for Red Dwarf and it is NOT to fund a new show. This isn't a GoFund me or Crowd Funding campaign.

I do not believe a funding campaign would work, not at the level of support we currently have, if you times the signatures by £10 it's not enough.
Nor would I know where the money would go, who to send it to, or if it would be enough or how it would be used.

I have not made any posts asking for money or contributions, these (and I have been under the assumption) have solely been done voluntarily and a change.org feature, this money is not seen by me or anyone involved with Red Dwarf, it is used to promote the petition by Change.Org.
It can't be turned off and is optional/voluntary. Not mandatory.

Updates and links to Red Dwarf products (the recent Blu Ray announcement) is not a expectation to buy the product, nor is guaranteed to get the show picked up if sales are good. 

My shout out to the contributors is just that, to show gratitude to those who have done so, if there has been any indication that there has been pressure to ask for funding, or it's expected, I apologise and this was not my intent.


Secondly, there has been some negative criticism over the petition, I rarely respond to this, and everyone is entitled to their opinion and we must respect each others views.

What I do not condone is the abuse some have had or been shown, nor the abuse I have received my way.

This petition has come from a good place and from the heart, like the many of you who've signed and contributed it.
My mindset was it's better to do something rather than moan, even if this fails, it's better than nothing at all.

If you find yourself on the receiving end of abuse or see this, please ignore the individual, please report it on whichever social platform you're on or/and block the individual(s).
At present there's over 3000 people who agree with you and support Red Dwarf with you. That's a lot of love right there.

With all that said, like Doug said - it’s always encouraging and humbling to know how much the show means to people and rest assured I’m trying to find a new home for the small rouge one.

Your input and support has been seen and is appreciated.

This petition will continue, and will end once the show finds a new home or UKTV reconsider.
