Hello fellow supports,

I will admit I was caught unawares and therefore unprepared for the GGC meeting on March 8 which saw THYC get a possible reprieve to having their lease rejected.

But as with all things in politics, there are avenues yet to pursue. One way you can help to undo this reprieve is to submit comments to City Council asking them to reconsider the amendment from the GGC meeting on March 8, 2026 and instead to go forward with bringing THYC's time on the Humber to an end.

To do so, visit https://secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda-item.do?item=2026.GG27.14

And click on the "Submit Comments" icon. This should link you to your email with the "To", "Subject" and an "intro" auto-filled after which you can simply cut and paste a prepared comment or type out your comment directly.

If the icon doesn't work automatically (mine didn't) you can cut and paste the following into your email:

To: councilmeeting@toronto.ca

Subject: My comments for 2026.GG27.14 on March 25, 2026 City Council

Intro:

To the City Clerk:

Please add my comments to the agenda for the March 25, 2026 City Council meeting on item 2026.GG27.14, Renewal of Various Boat Club Leases

I understand that my comments and the personal information in this email will form part of the public record and that my name will be listed as a correspondent on agendas and minutes of City Council or its committees. Also, I understand that agendas and minutes are posted online and my name may be indexed by search engines like Google.

Comments:

Start your comment's with a very specific ask:

"I’m contacting you regarding GG27.14 - Renewal of Various Boat Club Leases. Specifically I’d like you to vote against the amendment to the Staff Report entered on March 8 at GGC to continue THYC’s month to month lease and instead to instruct Parks to move forward with working to have THYC vacate the property promptly as Parks originally recommended."

I'm hoping we can rally our side and get at least 200 comments in support of ending THYC's lease so please help me reach that goal!!!

On an end note, if would be appreciated if you can bbc torontohumberpaddlecenter@gmail.com so that I can get a sense of how much support we have going into the meeting on Wednesday.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me at torontohumberpaddlecenter@gmail.com

Thanks for your support!!!
