Hello all petition supporters,
I'm sorry to keep pestering you regarding our efforts to ensure the city holds from on its decision not to renew Toronto Humber Yacht Club's lease.
We are very close to the finish line but of course THYC has engaged a PR team to rehabilitate the club's public image (creating their own misleading petition, mounting a social media campaign etc) and is apparently engaging a legal team to try to overturn the city's decision.
I'm including my latest letter to the city regarding THYC serving as homebase to a JetSki rental agency.
With this in mind, I'm asking you to spread the word regarding our petition in order to gain more support so we can demonstrate to the city, we the community support their decision to end THYC's lease. I'm also asking to you email the stakeholders above and let them know you do not support the club servicing as the base of operations for a JetSki rental agency.

Hello to all concerned,
I wanted to touch base again regarding the JetSki rental agency that is based out of THYC.
When I walked by this morning I noticed some paperwork on the dashboard of the UHaul which the trailer is attached to. I took pictures of the paperwork which seems to be waivers for the rental agency (see attached).
This is concerning because:
1/ Mark Seenarine (THYC Commodore) assured me the club would not allow a JetSki Rental Agency to operate out of the club.
2/ THYC claims to care about water safety yet are providing the base of operations for a JetSki rental agency with full knowledge of the safety concerns these companies pose.
3/ Although I'm sure THYC's current lease does not preclude allowing a JetSki rental agency from operating from the club's leased property, I have a feeling the lease does not specifically allow for this situation.
This is the second time I've brought this situation to your attention. There was no acknowledgement of my first email but I'm hoping that now I'm providing images of the waivers which to my mind prove my suspicion to be correct.
I'm pointing out the JetSki Rental Agency operating out of THYC because it disproves the club's PR campaign on social media trying to rehabilitate the club's public image is all for show.
The club is relying heavily on its historic role in the community and the nominal efforts the club has made since June '25 (when they learned their lease was in jeopardy) while completely ignoring the massive expansion of the club's operations against the objection of the community, without the guidance & approval by TRCA and without consulting the city over the past 7-8 years.
Unfortunately, it's clear as much as the PR team is working to convince the public the club is wonderful, it's also clear that the club's leadership team does not care about the community, water safety or the environment.
If the club is allowed to maintain their lease on the public property they currently occupy, the leadership team will continue to operate the club for their own personal benefit at the expense of the community, other water users and the environment.
Thanks again for your time and attention,
Jason Sills
