Thank you to the hundreds of supporters who have taken us over 500 online signatures in less than 5 days!!

Another big announcement is that we had a monumental day for in-person signatures at Nihon Matsuri. 1,768 signatures to be exact! So that brings our combined online and in-person signatures to over 2,200 - in less than 10 days time! Our original goal was 1,000 signatures by July 2nd and we have well surpassed that!!!

Our next steps for the petition is keep the momentum going and to canvas local Salt Lake City businesses to leave flyers with them - so if you know of any local businesses that would support our efforts, please email us at contact@slcjapantown.com and we will put them on our list!

We are also getting ready to let our voices be heard at the Salt Lake City Council meeting on 5/7 in which the Smith Entertainment Group is going to present their proposal regarding the sales tax increase of .5%.
