Community Update & Call to Action

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who has signed and shared the petition throughout Tuscaloosa County. Your support is making a difference — but this effort is far from over.

While much of the attention has centered on the 69 South community, it's important to understand that this issue affects all of Tuscaloosa County. High-density development threatens the integrity and quality of life across our entire region.

We need your help.

There will be a Tuscaloosa County Commission meeting on Tuesday, August 27 at 9:00 a.m.
📍 Location: Ground floor of the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse

We urgently need a strong community presence at this meeting. While gathering signatures is critical, it’s not enough. When only a handful of community members show up and developers arrive in force to oppose us, it sends the wrong message.  Signatures alone aren’t enough — we need you in the room!

This petition is not just about one neighborhood — it’s about protecting our entire county from unsustainable, profit-driven development.
