All Will Be Revealed at Cards Against Cuts: A Celebration of Storytelling

We’ve been quiet for a while — but not for lack of things to say. As we continue to take up our important schoolwork every day, we have also been working behind the scenes to advocate for our department and plan for what’s coming next.

We have much to share, and we’re so excited to bring it to you face to face on the Oval next Wednesday, April 1st at noon. There, we will host a special celebration of storytelling: Cards Against Cuts!

In the English Literature program (as well as the other departments facing senseless cuts) we share and interpret stories to make sense of our individual and collective pasts, presents, and futures. By honing these unique skills and insights, we take an active part in shaping our communities here in Montana and around the world.

We have reimagined several iconic tarot cards into archetypes of our work, and at Cards Against Cuts we invite you to take a reading of your own life. We will have several practiced card readers at the ready to help guide you through this perilous moment in our lives.

Whether you’re an avid tarot fan or a hardline skeptic, we will have celebrations, revelations, and readings of all kinds that you won’t want to miss! If you're not in Missoula, don't worry -- our updates will make their way online after the event.

In the meantime, expect periodic updates on our Substack highlighting some of the cards in our Literary Major Arcana. To see them first, make sure to follow us on Instagram!
