Thanks once again for your support. I have received further clarification regarding funding and volunteers on wards. This response is directly from NHS and I await a response from the Scottish Government regarding overall funding allocation to the breastfeeding budget and will update when this becomes available.

 1. Are there plans underway to bring back volunteers to the wards?

I can confirm there are discussions underway as to how, as a Health Board, we can increase the support available for breastfeeding in the Postnatal Wards and the Neonatal Services.
 
2, Has the total budget allocated to breastfeeding support increased, decreased or stayed the same (I understand that funds have been redirected to local health boards)?

I can confirm that after in year pay award adjustments, the budget allocated to breastfeeding support are generally similar and will have no impact on the improvement plans we have been working on.”
