“To the Ukrainians who are defending the values we hold dear, we stand with you—not only in our words, but also in our actions. Canada will offer safe haven to your families while you fight on the front lines of a war to defend your freedom to the benefit of the entire world.   -The Honorable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship

“As brave Ukrainians fight for their lives and their freedom, Canada is ready to welcome their loved ones who are forced to flee. When they arrive safely in Canada, we’re going to help Ukrainians find work and so they can provide for themselves and their families. From ensuring that children can enroll in school to helping parents join our workforce, we want every Ukrainian to find peace, stability, and community in Canada.”    – The Honorable Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion

Canada’s government announced on their government website today…The resiliency and courage of Ukrainians have inspired the world, and Canada is unwavering in its commitment to provide support to Ukraine as it fights for its sovereignty and for the democratic ideals that our countries share.”

They go on to say, “Today we’re launching the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET), a special temporary residence pathway to welcome Ukrainians and their families to Canada:

With CUAET, Ukrainians and their family members can stay in Canada as temporary residents for up to 3 years. They will also be eligible for a free open work permit or study permit, which will allow them to work or study across Canada.

Ukrainians and their family who are already in Canada can also apply to extend their visitor status or work permit for up to 3 years or apply for a new work or study permit. We will waive the application fees.

On top of this, they add, “The Government of Canada is also calling on employers who wish to support Ukrainians with offers of employment to register these offers on Job Bank’s Jobs for Ukraine webpage. Job Bank will then work with local organizations and employers to help connect them with Ukrainians seeking work in their communities.”

We, as adopting families, with relationships with our previously hosted children are just hoping to bring them to America temporarily.  Thank you for signing and sharing.  We are nearly at 4,000 signatures and hope for the goal of 5,000 this weekend.  Please continue sharing.
