The fight to nationalise the water industry continues.  Although neither of the 'big two' English political parties will commit to this eminently sensible and popular policy, we now have an opportunity to force their hand.

A group of 39 cross-party MPs have officially put their names to Early Day Motion 738, which calls for "English water companies to be brought under public control"

Caroline Lucas of the Green Party is the primary sponsor of the motion but, significantly, 24 of the 39 supporters are Labour MPs.

With an election imminent and Labour likely to win with a large majority, we want as many of their MPs as possible to support this motion, giving the probable next Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, something to think about.

How do we do this? It's as simple as asking our MPs.

It's time for MPs to stand tall on this issue and act in the best interests of their constituents, rather than meekly supporting flawed party policy.

If you can take just two minutes today to send your MP this e-mail, and ask your friends and family to do the same, we can send a very clear message that this is what we want.

39 MPs is a great start but we need many more. It's time for us to shape the narrative.
