On Monday, six members of SOS Whitstable went to Downing Street to hand over our petition to return water into public ownership to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Although we're certainly not done with the petition and are still determined to gain more signatures, we feel that 205,000+ is an incredible number to demonstrate the level of public support. Especially given that we have reached that amazing landmark in just 5 months.

Naturally the Conservative Party are likely to continue ignoring the issue, claiming that things are improving and that nationalisation isn't the answer, despite all evidence pointing to the contrary.

However, with under 2 years until the next General Election, we are now calling on the opposition parties, specifically the Labour Party and the Lib Dems, to step up and join the Green Party in calling for public ownership to return.
