Will you help us publish this open letter in the NT News?

Friends and family 📰
We're crowdfunding a full-page ad in the NT News to show the government that tens of thousands of Territorians care about Lee Point. With 40,000–60,000 print readers, plus a large online audience, this ad will be seen across Darwin and the NT — sending a clear message that protecting Lee Point is a shared priority.
Three Larrakia Elders from different family groups, 14 community organisations and over 22,000 community members have put their power behind this message. Now we need your support to make the ad a reality.
This campaign is especially urgent as the wet season in Darwin is coming to an end — meaning that Defence Housing Australia will soon be getting their bulldozers ready and the time to act is now.
We've made incredible progress: NT Labor has flipped their position and now supports protecting Lee Point, building on the foundation laid by Independent MLA Justine Davis who tabled our petition in Parliament, and former Green MLA Kat Davis who gave our petition her full support. When we met with Minister for Parks & Wildlife Marie Clare Boothby in late 2024, she told us exactly what was needed: a demonstration of broad-based support for the protection of Lee Point — and that's precisely what we're delivering with this open letter.
No matter the size of your donation, your support helps ensure Lee Point is protected now and for generations to come.
- $2,400 means we can run the ad on a weekday
- $3,000 means we run the ad on a weekend
- $10,000 means we can run the ad for four weeks in print and online!
I know times are tough for a lot of us at the moment and so I am sending this email as an invitation, not an obligation and want to express how much the support you already give to Larrakia Country is deeply appreciated.
With gratitude and determination,
Laniyuk
