Gov Gavin Newsom Is mindful of a Broader Story

Just a couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend Gov Gavin Newsom’s Inauguration .  There was a point in his speech where he said that he was mindful that there was another side to the California Gold Rush story of James Marshall, that was NOT a fairytale.

in other words the California Gold Rush story of James Marshall’s discovery of GOLD in 1849 has some truths but for the most part was a fabricated story pushed by small men in big offices to take generational wealth (land) from pioneer Black families and their descendants.  If you support knowing the truth and the courage it took for Gavin Newsom’s to be the first out of 39 governors before him to acknowledge California's wrong; sign and share .
