Einladung zum 'Tag der geschlossenen Tür' am 8. Juni 2024, 14 – 24 Uhr auf dem Areal der B.L.O. Ateliers in Lichtenberg

Die B.L.O. Ateliers im Gleisdreieck am Nöldnerplatz in Lichtenberg feiern in diesem Jahr ihr 20-jähriges Jubiläum im Rahmen eines „Tages der geschlossenen Tür“ am 8. Juni.  Der Tag beginnt um 13 Uhr mit einer bunten Parade ab Tuchollaplatz durch den angrenzenden Kaskelkiez.  Von dort geht es zum B.L.O. Areal, wo ab 14 Uhr ein umfassendes Programm eröffnet wird: Bis 18 Uhr gibt es Kunst-Installationen, zahlreiche Workshops für Jung und Alt, ein vielfältiges Kinderprogramm, eine Kleinkunstbühne, eine DJ-Area mit Ambient Musik, sowie diverse Infotische sozialer Projekte und zur Situation der Berliner Künstler: innen-Häuser. Um 18 Uhr starten dann lokale und internationale Livebands ein Konzertprogramm auf der B.L.O. Bühne bis Mitternacht. Essen und Getränke werden an verschiedenen Ständen angeboten.

Doch warum dann ein „Tag der geschlossenen Tür“? Das Jubiläum findet unter besonderen Bedingungen statt: Aufgrund einer Ende April verhängten Nutzungsuntersagung durch die Vermieterin Deutsche Bahn müssen die Türen zu den Ateliers und Werkstätten leider geschlossen bleiben. Und nicht nur dadurch ist der Fortbestand der B.L.O. Ateliers mit ihren fast 100 Nutzer:innen aus Kunst und Kunsthandwerk äußerst bedroht: am 31.Juli 2024 läuft der Mietvertrag des die B.L.O. Ateliers betreibenden Lockkunst e.V. aus. Der Verein braucht einen neuen und langfristigen Mietvertrag, um investieren und den Bestand erhalten zu können. Die Politik ist daher gefragt, weiterhin aktiv in dem Interessenskonflikt mit der Deutschen Bahn zu vermitteln. Nicht nur die B.L.O. Ateliers sind aktuell bedroht, sondern sehr viele Künstlerhäuser und Ateliers in Berlin. Der Stadt, die sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten zur wichtigsten Kunstmetropole Europas entwickelt hatte droht damit der Exodus der Künstler:innen.

Aber – jetzt erst recht! – wollen die B.L.O. Ateliers dieses Jubiläum gemeinsam mit der Nachbarschaft und interessierten Berliner:innen begehen - als 'Tag der geschlossenen Tür' auf dem ganzen B.L.O.-Areal. Besucher:innen sind herzlich eingelden ,an diesem besonderen Tag ein Zeichen für den Erhalt von Kultur und Kunst in Berlin zu setzen.

Der Eintritt ist frei. Es gibt keine Parkplätze auf dem Gelände, aber nur 5 min Fussweg entfernt gut zu erreichen ist der S-Bahnhof Nöldnerplatz.

Invitation to the 'Closed Doors Day' on June 8, 2024, 2 PM – Midnight at the B.L.O. Ateliers in Lichtenberg

The B.L.O. Ateliers at Gleisdreieck near Nöldnerplatz in Lichtenberg are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year with a "Closed Doors Day" on June 8. The day starts at 1 PM with a colorful parade from Tuchollaplatz through the neighboring Kaskelkiez. From there, the celebration moves to the B.L.O. grounds, where a comprehensive program will begin at 2 PM: Until 6 PM, there will be art installations, numerous workshops for young and old, a diverse children's program, a small stage for performing arts, a DJ area with ambient music, and various information tables about social projects and the situation of Berlin's artist houses. At 6 PM, local and international live bands will kick off a concert program on the B.L.O. stage, lasting until midnight. Food and drinks will be available at various stalls.

But why call it a "Closed Doors Day"? The anniversary takes place under special circumstances: Due to a usage ban imposed by the landlord Deutsche Bahn at the end of April, the doors to the studios and workshops must unfortunately remain closed. This, among other issues, threatens the very existence of the B.L.O. Ateliers, which host almost 100 users from the fields of art and craftsmanship. The lease for the B.L.O. Ateliers, managed by Lockkunst e.V., expires on July 31, 2024. The association needs a new and long-term lease to invest and ensure its continued existence. Hence, the political community is called upon to actively mediate the conflict of interest with Deutsche Bahn. Not only the B.L.O. Ateliers are currently threatened, but many artist houses and studios in Berlin are also at risk. The city, which has evolved into the most important art metropolis in Europe over the past decades, faces an exodus of artists.

But – now more than ever! – the B.L.O. Ateliers want to celebrate this anniversary together with the neighborhood and interested Berliners as a 'Closed Doors Day' across the entire B.L.O. grounds. Visitors are warmly invited to join this special day and stand up for the preservation of culture and art in Berlin.

Admission is free. There are no parking spaces on the premises, but the Nöldnerplatz S-Bahn station is just a 5-minute walk away.
