Thank you to everyone who signed this petition. It was officially confirmed this evening that Liverpool Football Club will be rightfully honouring Diogo by retiring his number 20 shirt in his memory.

I hope this gives his family, close friends and supporters an immense sense of pride and comfort. I always thought that the club would do this but this petition has enabled us to rally in order to get this gesture in place sooner rather than later.

Reach out to your loved ones and appreciate every minute as you never know when it may be the last time you see somebody.
