Can you believe this? The city closed the park on the next day after my petition was aired and got a significant response. Families were coming abd had to leave! Please watch the video! It's unbelievable - they closed it due to "maintenance" and "bacteria", but no maintenance had been done except trimming a few bushes which didn't require the closure, and the bacteria miraculously only stayed in the tiny beach! Keep in mind that this is a river with flowing water and high tides. If there was any bacteria it would be in the whole area in no time. The current is very strong during the tides and the water changes twice a day with the tides.
Is the city playing a power game and trying to intimidate us? I don't know - you decide.
