Giinagay / Hello,

Thank you all for signing and sharing the petition to restore the heart of the Great Koala National Park. Our campaign to see the ancient Gumbaynggirr sacred sites, Dreaming Tracks and precious Dungirr / koala corridors protected.

As we soar past 2000 signatures, we welcome more voices of support including Gumbaynggirr Elder Aunty Yvette Pacey, who has also called for proper consultation, saying:

“Forestry need to reach out to people such as myself, Elders who have knowledge of what's gone on in the past, so that these areas can be identified and protected and managed in a much more considerate and environmentally conscious way. My whole issue with Forestry at the moment, is that they don't talk to Aboriginal people on Country. There's not enough consultation between us and them. They make decisions on our Country without speaking to us first, and I find that inconsiderate and culturally negligent.”

Please continue to share this petition and keep up the pressure in demanding proper consultation with Gumbaynggir Elders and the inclusion of Tucker's Nob and Pine Creek into the Great Koala National Park before it is gazetted as early as this month.

Darrundang / Many thanks.
