Late last year, the Chief Minister of the ACT and I wrote hundreds of letters to federal parliamentarians regarding Territory rights and voluntary assisted dying.

For federal parliamentarians who are known supporters, we asked for them to recommit their support.

For federal parliamentarians whose positions aren't clear on one or both of Territory rights and voluntary assisted dying, we asked for clarity.

We have begun receiving responses - ranging from encouraging to disappointing - and I will be sharing some of these in coming days.

In the meantime, please help us get to 2000 signatories on this petition by the end of January by sharing it with your friends and family.

ACT citizens should not be treated as second-class simply because of where we live. We deserve the same democratic rights on this critical issue as residents who live in the states.
