We started the 2025–2026 school year with a simple request: better communication, stronger leadership, and better support for our students and the staff who support them every day.
What followed was definitely an uphill battle — and not for the faint of heart.
Our students navigated 9 different principals throughout the course of the school year, creating an incredible amount of transition and uncertainty for our school community. Throughout it all, parents continued to speak up, ask questions, advocate for our children, and push for positive change.
Today, we are very happy to share some positive news and a successful conclusion to our petition.
We have received word from the Ombudsman’s Office following our initial contact with them, and we are grateful that our concerns have been heard and given consideration.
We are also incredibly happy to share that Michael Butler has accepted the full-time position as Principal of O’Neil! We are excited to welcome him and hope that this brings the stability and consistency our students, staff and families deserve.
There is also another important change ahead. Following Mr. Daniel Peters’ time as Superintendent, Oxford County will have a new Superintendent beginning in September. We are looking forward to building fresh relationships, working collaboratively, and moving forward in a positive direction.
Most importantly, we want to get back to celebrating our students. ❤️
They deserve a school environment where they feel supported, where their accomplishments are celebrated, and where families can have confidence in the leadership guiding their school.
