Petition updateRestore Public Access for All to Alki PointStorm-watching at Alki Point
Alki Point for All!Seattle, WA, United States

Yesterday was a windy day on Puget Sound. The kind of day where you stand full face to the wind, and see how hard it will push you back. Where the whitecaps are whipped to frothy peaks, splashing against the seawall and sometimes, over it. Where seagulls and eagles ride the gusts, all the way down Beach Drive. Where it's blowing so hard you might just stay in your car, and watch windsurfers carve the waves.

Storm-watching at Alki Point is a Seattle tradition. We want to keep it that way.

Thank you for signing our petition. Please keep sharing with your networks and friends. We're just 45 signatures away from reaching 1000.

Super thanks to everyone who's contributed to change.org so more people see and sign. And thanks especially for the comments. They assure us, and decision-makers, that we are not alone. If you haven't already, please consider adding one of your own. There's nothing like hearing what Alki Point means to you, in your own words.

Last week we presented at a District One Community Network meeting. Our points were well-received. Thanks to D1CN for the invitation! Our next step is to reach out to constituent groups like schools and retirement homes. Please get in touch if you want to help. Reach Victoria at johnvick@comcast.net or Donna at donna@thewhaletrail.org.

Happy Almost Spring!
