I am delighted to share a very positive update on the campaign to restore the original name of our much-loved hall.

Yesterday, I was contacted by Hume City Council's Manager - City Lifestyles, who has advised that a report has been prepared in response to our community petition. In the report, it is recommended that the Tullamarine Community Hall be immediately renamed back to its historically significant name: Tullamarine War Memorial Hall.

The report and recommendation will now be presented to Hume City Council at its meeting on Monday 24 August for formal approval.

This is a significant milestone and one that would not have been possible without the incredible support of our community. Thank you to everyone who signed the petition, shared the campaign, spoke to family and friends, and helped raise awareness of the hall's important history. Your support has demonstrated just how much preserving our local heritage matters.

The Tullamarine War Memorial Hall was intended to be built as a living memorial to our local people who served our nation during the Second World War, and restoring its original name is an important step in recognising that legacy for future generations.

While there is still one final step before a decision is confirmed, this recommendation is incredibly encouraging, and I look forward to the Council meeting on Monday 24 August.
