The travellers that were occupying the coach park area have now left and DDDC have cleaned the area so Matlock Bath can welcome coaches again!!

When writing my last update, I was led to believe that it was the travellers who had been long time residents of the coach park who had returned. This was not in fact the case, it was another group of travellers. 

However the fact that random traveller families routinely turn up and occupy the coach park cannot be allowed to continue. As we approach the start of the visitor season, coach companies must be sure they can rely on the coach park being available when they arrive in the village.  

The coach park needs to be made secure to stop this pattern of traveller families using the site whenever they are in the area. We were told that the design of the site does not lend itself to being made secure. Perhaps then it is time to start thinking outside the box and have a coach park that will not be freely usable as a traveller site. 

This is what the second part of our petition is asking for. Surely as we enter the second quarter of the 21st century, it is not impossible to create such an area.
