The letter relating to the refusal of Houston’s to provide an evening bus at 10pm from the town and back as they were persuaded to do for Lochside is above. There was a similar one in the Courier. No response yet from any Councillors or from Swestrans. 

Not that one bus at 10 is much good to any of our communities. There is no good reason why they cannot return the service to as it was before the pandemic. The town’s night time economy will suffer terribly and social and medical contacts will be poleaxed.

However they surely must give us a bus after 830, and it would make a lot of sense to just keep running the route up and down and round until the same as North West Dumfies,  which would give us buses at 910, 950, and 1030pm I think we would accept that as a first step to see if they were used.
 Make it plain that you will not vote for Councillors that are not supported by this petition.
