Well we didn’t manage to persuade Swestrans and Stagecoach to give us back our evening bus despite two petitions, much media coverage, and sending them to the Transport secretary.

Now as you have probably seen the Council and it’s transport arm Swestrans have failed to agree a new deal for the whole region and Stagecoach will end all buses at the beginning of August.

Swestrans and its members have failed the people of Dumfries. The Council need to scrap it and take transport back into full Council control. The new administration needs to agree a deal with Stagecoach right away like most councils around the country.

Get onto your Councillor and do whatever you can to stop them destroying what was once an adequate system before we are left with a skeleton bus service with no national backing.
