"It's hard to believe Radha Bharadwaj’s Closet Land is almost 35 years old. Its Kafkaesque themes of gaslighting, of physical and mental manipulation, are so timely and relevant. And at the same time, Closet Land is also lovely to behold. The performances and production design are both contemporary and immaculate. It's as if Closet Land were made yesterday, yet the film is strangely - and very sadly -  inaccessible today. 

Contemporary audiences deserve to see Closet Land in its pristine form. That’s why I am joining the call for the digital restoration and re-release of Closet Land. This is an opportunity for this remarkable film to acquire a whole new audience. For it to touch a new generation of cinemagoers and activists of all stripes. Closet Land will be fresh yet familiar to those who get to see it as it was meant to be seen."
