Recently, a reported 275 elephant carcasses were found in Sergona, Botswana. However, the cause of these deaths remain unknown. Research is currently investigating this mass die-off. The tusks of the fallen elephants were untouched despite the elephants being found near human settlements which possibly points to an illness affecting the elephants rather than poaching.
Regardless of the cause of death, it is a great tragedy and we must continue to raise our voices to further protect our precious elephants from hunters and poachers. Although the global pandemic has postponed my visit to deliver this petition to the Embassy of Botswana, we can continue to support the lives of the elephants that call Botswana home.
Please share this petition to those close to you on social media or any other way to connect. It is a wonderful way to share what is important to you.
