𝑷𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑴𝑳𝑨 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝑷 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑳𝑹𝑻.

"Reliable sources tell me that we are closer than ever before to making LRT a reality in our region, with ongoing discussions happening between the Province and Federal Government" - Colwood Councillor Ian Ward.  That sentiment follows along a similar line of recent posts from Esquimalt Mayor Barb Desjardins themed "Reimagine rail" 

In his post Ian named background supporters Liberal MP Stephanie McLean and Will Greaves, and NDP MLA's Ravi Parmar and Darlene Rotchford. We hope to hear public leadership from them all soon!

I think we will start to hear more from other leaders on municipal councils and from those campaigning to get there in the coming months too.

With the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations both signing a Reconciliation Corridor agreement with the Capital Regional District Mayors, I have to agree with Ian. It is looking more likely than ever that we will have passenger trains!

We want the whole corridor restored and we will continue pushing for that, but getting rail up and running in the CRD is the transportation seed we need to grow the system to the rest of the island.
