Milestones are important, and today Vancouver Island just hit one! 500 Signatures in 4 days!
I apologize for the back-to-back emails, I know I said I was going to wait until 1000, but seeing 500 so quickly was really encouraging. Keep on sharing and keep on promoting if you can afford it https://chng.it/8MVrxWCpfc Give me the numbers in support to pressure every level of government into funding this railway using their own internal mechanisms to do it. When there are big numbers of signatures like the more than 10400 we had last time, they will listen! The Federal government listened last time!
The image above is from when all the Mayors on Vancouver Island petitioned the Government to restore our railway a few years ago, and then the B.C. Government, First Nations, Regional Districts and the Island Corridor Foundation got together to talk about it on 19 Jul 2023. No word on those outcomes yet.
Again, thank you for signing! And a special thank you goes out to the amazing 22 Promoters already contributing a combined total of $329.20 to get the word out. Those promotions put the Petition in front of more and more Canadian eyes. https://www.change.org/p/restore-and-enhance-vancouver-island-s-railway-corridor-with-a-fund-up-to-1-billion
I know I keep pressing on the Passenger services of the railway, but there is also a huge opportunity for freight between the Port of Nanaimo and Port Alberni connecting to Asian, African, and Mexican markets. It would pay for maintenance of the railway so the passenger services can run atop without the extra costs of dedicated passenger systems. I'll talk about that at 1000 signatures.
This early on it’s important to get shares out there. Many elderly folks and care providers enjoy email but are less likely to be involved with social media. Please share this with them. I’d feel awful if they lost an opportunity to support something that could be life changing for them. That includes injured and disadvantaged people too. https://www.change.org/p/restore-and-enhance-vancouver-island-s-railway-corridor-with-a-fund-up-to-1-billion
Visiting with Family, Friends and events using an easy to navigate and accessible train and bus network just makes sense. Restoring our railway is the right way to do Transportation on Vancouver Island.
