Support Proper Respite Care for Carers and Families in West Cork

We, the undersigned, stand in support of the carers and families of West Cork who are calling for proper, regular and accessible respite care for their loved ones.

For many families, caring is a lifelong commitment. Respite is not a luxury — it is an essential support that allows carers to rest, recharge and continue caring for their loved ones while also protecting the wellbeing of the whole family.

Families in the Bantry and wider West Cork area have been without adequate respite for far too long. Many carers are becoming older, while their loved ones continue to need lifelong support.

We are asking the relevant organisations and authorities to work together to provide sustainable, appropriate respite services in West Cork, so that families are not left carrying this responsibility alone.
